Long legs

This weekend I had "gambe lunghe" (or long legs) as my father would say, meaning I had an itch in my get-along to take off and go exploring somewhere.  Daniel was at music camp, so good excuse.  Anyway, I chose a destination not too far from home, Florence Avenue in Sebastopol, home of the yard sculptures by Patrick Amiot and Brigitte Laurent.  On Florence Avenue almost every front yard has a large sculpture created by Patrick and Brigitte.  Patrick builds the sculptures out of found and discarded objects and Brigitte paints them.  A nice walk for viewing public art and sweet old cottages.  The first photo is P and B's front yard.

Love your summer trips to discover the surrounds. So curious places just on the corner.

What great sculptures, and all re-used material. Love it!

I wish my boiler looked like that dog :)! I have a friend who discarded metal and metal (and other materials) scraps and turns them into art - I love the concept, and the finished products.

What a magical storybook idea. I'll have to find my way to Florence Avenue.
