October... This is the month we like to take far away trips, airplane trips, pastry in the morning trips. Though here we are in October and no trip. Somehow time flew by and all our plans got pushed aside. Is that why my blue mood? I've been wondering. It's also probably why I've had this (more than usual) urge to buy myself treats like shoes and pretty smelly soaps. I am not a shopper so I recognize this as my empty shopping therapy.
Today we packed a picnic and took a day trip close to where we live. We drove up 84, took a left at Alice's Restaurant, and headed south. The road opened up to a vista of layered hills, trees, and the pacific ocean in the distance. We stopped the car, ate our sandwiches, then took a long meandering walk. It was an amazingly beautiful fall day.
So no more whining, no more complaining, and I am putting the skids on the silly soaps.
