Homies

"Una Casa, Mi Casa" by Alessandro Sanna

Catarina knows how much home means to me and sent this jewel
of a book to mi casa. It is a simple book, yet carries a lot of
meaning. A favorite page that resonates with me is
the one that says, "I return to it happily."
This is something, for a month and a half,
I can now thankfully say is true. Perfecto - xo

Oh - check out Catarina's new shop filled with adorable handmade Bichos!

.......

And then there is jam...

Within the last few weeks I met two blog friends who also
happen to be jam makers. What are the odds of that?
Last weekend at the Fairfax Sustainable Fair, I met Shae
of the blog Hitchhiking to Heaven. Shae's blog is a mega treasure for
jam lovers and makers. I am always amazed at what imaginative new
concoctions she comes up with, and I got to try some too...
oh so delicious!
Her jammie enthusiasm is contageous,
and it was such fun to finally meet :^)

it sounds every bit as wonderful in italian as it does in any language. 'returning home'... it's all there, in the words. :)

Trinsch - We are going to my brother's house Christmas eve for sushi :^) and Christmas day we are staying home, eating a simple meal, lighting a fire - cozy quiet stuff!

I haven't met Shae, but know her through her blog. She always makes me smile and I've tasted two of her creations so far, apple butter and a grapefruit marmalade--both spectacular.

hi JANIS,
thinking of you as i just returned happily to my home, after some brief by far travel, and finally wanted to write you a proper thank you...i love the home and heart sachet, and it is exactly as you say in this post,a wonderful reminder of the joy of returning home...i want to send you something by mail too, but will wait for the proper moment. i enjoyed our correspondence about meditative moments, and prefer to write when i am in that centered place...so hopefully in the new year i will feel that center to take out a piece of paper inspired by your handwritten beautiful card, and return a hand written gesture...meanwhile, enjoy your first christmas in your new home, with love on christmas eve,

joanne

Janis! How in the world did I miss this? The holiday haze, I suppose. I'm glad to be catching up with your blog and thank you for including me in this sweet post. You make my labels look nice!

I was sniffing that wonderful sachet just this morning as I took down our Christmas tree. (Always a little sad to do that.) Now I have to find a special new place for that little bird.

XO
Shae
