Treasures

Berkeley is so darn cool. In this one small city there is so much creativity per square inch it blows my mind... Yesterday we saw a matinee of Aurelia's Oratorio at the Berkeley Rep, but before the show we made a detour to my favorite shop on earth, Tail of the Yak. Here are some early birthday treasures I carefully picked out, then turned my back while the purchase was made :^) Pictured is a very fragrant soap, a lettering pen, sealing wax, and a bird comb to hold in my hand and admire.

So pretty all of the items. Tail of the Yak is a great name for a store!
The bird comb reminds me of the bird motif on your bunting.
Is your birthday soon?? I can't remember from last year...

Jane - Your store? Please, do tell! I am calling the store tomorrow to get more details on the soap...something I forgot to ask, though I'm sure your right :^)

Jennifer - The comb caught my eye because it is similar to something I am working on - funny you mentioned that! ...and yep, my birthday is in March :^)

Oh, how much fun. I do so enjoy visiting artsy areas - mostly just to browse and be inspired.
Thank you for sharing.

Janis,
I held that very soap in my hand yesterday at the Tale of the Yak thinking it reminded me of you:-)

Francesca - The round embossed seal on an envelope :^) I will post one soon - I am sure that you have seen them - maybe the word "sealing wax" confused.

Cabrizette - Why don't I live in France? One day I hope we meet in one of these places for that cup of tea :^)

Donna !!!! I am so touched...you are so amazing and I can't wait to see you Thursday. Thanks for the comment! xoxo

Oh I think I'd love this shop! Beautiful treasures! I had the same great "heart" soap, I think it came from Tade / Aleppo Syria.
