This is where

because of the infinite things to draw

because of the steep diagonal hills

because of this cafe, and neighborhood people

...

The first time I went to Farley's it was after work in the early 90's. I had just sat down with my cup of coffee when a large white dog walked in with a big red helium balloon attached to it's tail. No one seemed bothered or surprised,
like it was all very normal. I found it symbolic ...
at that moment I knew I found my place,
my home away from home.

.....

Other lovely places to hang out starting here

yup, as jane writes, it is great when you find "your" place, indeed; even though it's not always easy. nice one you did so long ago.

(now this conversation is making me hum cheers' opening tune... ha!)

That's exactly how a favorite hang out should feel like, a home away from home!

That place looks so nice to sit and see the time pass by. Love those hills although I thought I could not drive there...perfect exercise to go down and up. Rest with a cup of tea...

"community in a cup"--great slogan (I just clicked on to Farleys).
Would be wonderful to stop by there and draw with you.
Enjoy!!

any place where you meet a white dog with a red balloon at its tail must be a good place.
