Four obsessive thoughts today:
(post party with crowds of people)
1) stepping out of my comfort zone is not such a bad thing (occasionally)
2) complaining and worrying about it before hand is a waste of time (hard one)
3) sweetness can be found in unexpected places and people (surprise)
4) keep an open mind and heart (a reminder)

She is woman, hear her roar...
Even though the sculpture is made of found objects...it so much
reminds me of your drawing style!
I identify with your obsessive thoughts. I hate crowded parties where I (usually) don't know anyone...like the parties that Tomory's collectors throw. It's business for Tomory, and many people want to talk to him, I feel pretty invisible in those situations...even collectors who have met me before, never seem to remember my name...it kind of sucks. But then I usually play anthropologist and absorb the setting around me...the art on the walls, the clothing people are wearing. I did get to meet Leonard Nimoy once at one of those parties, he was very sweet!
We do like to occasionally throw our own parties- this weekend we are having a BBQ at our house... a lot of people for us-20 or so- wish you & Daniel could come :)
Hey Janis! I am totally with you on all of them.. In a few hours, coincidentally, I am going to have coffee with my best friend from first grade!! We haven't really seen each other since about 4th grade. Since I graduated from high school in 1987, that would make about 30 years? I'm nervous! So, that you for the lift. I also just need to breathe!
Jennifer - beautiful, thoughtful comment - thank you so much for sharing your side. It's so admirable how you handle Tomory's art parties - I like how you "play anthropologist" and change an uncomfortable situation into a positive - I love this shift in perspective!
...as I get older I am realizing that I am not the only one feeling akward - this helps me a little sometimes :)
Happy BBQ and new pave job! Wish we could be there too ... xoxo, j.
Kyndale - Yes, breathe :) and good luck. Now you'll have to share and give us the scoop afterwards!
