small treasure in the winter sun
Through the years I've collected inexpensive rhinestone brooches. I don't have many, maybe a handful. Sometimes it's nice having a bit of flair on a coat or sweater... a little theater, a finishing touch. A long time ago I put them away feeling the days of pinning on shiny things was over. Enough of the sparkles, my style had changed.
And changed back... I'm feeling sparkly again :^)
Speaking of sparkles, Anna Karenina is a must see. Keira Knightly is GORGEOUS and the combination of cinema and stage is amazing. We all know the story, but don't let it stop you. This is a fresh presentation. Costumes, theater, drama...go!

hmmmm hmmmmm, i like that t. stoppard wrote the script but i thought it looked a bit stagey. (i liked the duchess alot).
you might change my mind.
yes break out those sparkles again, at least for the holidays!
MP - Ah interesting point of view! Though I thought it was a masterful blend of two worlds.
Chacon son gout!
yes. sparkle on in the californian winter sun, you.
haven't seen the film yet but you two have now "sparkled" my curiosity. love stoppard so that's that, not so fond of mr. jude and ms. knightley though... I shall let you know what I think.
Ninja - yes, do let us know! And I'm not a Jude Law fan either, but his performance doesn't seem to interfere.
The blue one is so beautiful. And I also love the card with the bird and flowers on it, where is it from?
Sparkle on, sweetheart :)!
I read the book so much time ago, as a teenager...and I am not sure about "breaking" that magical image....
Sparkly is the good word, beautiful as well
Feeling sparkly seems such a glorious feeling, and one I do not know well at all. I wonder if I own any sparkle. I'm going to dig around. I want a little sparkle, at least for today. Also, I love how carefully placed each object looks in your photographs. I've always seen you as someone who appreciates each detail.
Sohvi - I bought the postcard at a shop nearby called Summerhouse. I have an extra one if you would like me to send it to you :^) (email)
Denise - A little sparkle is easily found at a good thift or flea market. That is where I get mine. I am easily amused :^)
The carefully place objects are actually not so carefully placed. The photo is of my nightstand where things get tossed...though I guess I do toss them with care (for the still life effect!) X
my kind of film, and my kind of sparkles (mine too have just come out of the drawer).
Francesca - Feels good, doesn't it... ;^)
how good that you kept those gems in a safe place :)
i will keep Anna Karenina in mind. Thanks.
have missed you J!
