Robson-Harrington Community Garden and Park, San Anselmo
There is a new world trade center at ground zero in NYC. I had no idea. This actually took me by surprise when I saw it on the news. The tallest building in Manhattan. I must have heard about the sky scraper plan a long time ago but then blocked it out...I guess I've been hoping they might plant a grove of trees or a garden there instead. Such a dreamer, but wouldn't it be nice? Something simple...humble...quiet. A place of contemplation.
Timothy "Speed" Levitch gives his point of view on the WTC site here.
"... a joy park of 16 acres, blazing green grass, togetherness, and spontaneous culture ... a landmark with a heart..."

that garden! that´s the way gardens should be :)
and i do agree with you-
a place of contemplation would have been nice, and much better.
it´s early spring here, so i´m only waiting for all that blossom in the near future :)
How I wish I could walk in a park like this with baby Artur! Do you come along?:-) Miss you!
I agree, a park full of flowers and room for comtemplation would have been so nice :)
what a peaceful place. about ground zero, well, yes you are a dreamer! ;-)
A view of the buffalo. Yes.
this looks lovely. i just discovered another lovely place up your way - annies perennials in richmond. do you know it? xoxo
MP - I see Annie's perennials in all the nurseries but I haven't actually made a trip out to the source. I should go sometime - thanks for the reminder!
What a beautiful garden! That's the kind of garden I'd love to have - not too tidy, no neat rows, lots of flowers.
I remember reading ages ago about the different projects for rebuilding ground zero, and I thought they all included a garden, or many trees at least.
this community garden looks so colorful and so peaceful ...
Would love to take a peek into that garden! And also the one yo dreamed off..
Beautiful gardens! Just spent my morning walking along the Neckar here in Heidelberg and enjoying all the natural flowers.
