Today at the farmer's market I sampled some jam undercover.
I didn't think it was necessary to disclose that I was the jam diva of the universe
and beyond, but then the vendor asked my opinion. I was very complimentary
at first (really I was), but then added (nicely) that it was too sweet,
that the sugar overpowered the fruit, and that tasting the flavor of the fruit
was of utmost importance to me. Just my opinion, and
I guess that's not what the vendor really wanted to hear.
Sorry Mr. Jam Vendor, you beckoned the wrong girl.

Otli, to answer your question... I didn't originally start this blog to
spew my opinions (as above) but to share my sketchbook drawings, other artwork,
and random things that relate to art. Though at the present, my artwork is on hold
(and it is all for something good but more on this later)
therefore the spewing of opinions and other such distractions. xoxo

Tricky things, opinions. And tricky thing, sugaring jam! It really depends on the kind of fruit you have available: your white peaches are usually so naturally sweet, that I always have to cut back the sugar.
I'm glad for the "something good"!
I never liked the jam because it is really too sweet.
wishing you a very nice monday.

Sometimes, smile and that´s the answer people want to "hear". Me too on farmer market
what a funny grany look !!... and i agree with Ibb ! I'm learning now, to close my mouth and don't tell everything..
Have a nice week !
No...good thing you said that Janis...the jam maker can work with it or say up yours!
But I am all for things tasting of the food source not the sugar! this obsession with sugar is no fun anyway you look at it!

ps sounds interesting what going on there for you....
That vendor should listen to you. Your jam is amazing.
Now I am so curious as to why you have put your artwork on hold!!
i´m the chocolate diva of the universe and beyond.... we should get together and compare notes;)
i like the "jam diva" name... can I be the "coffe diva"?
one week ago I planted some sunflowers seeds... i hope they grows fast and beautiful :)
Jennifer - I'll spill it soon on the blog, or maybe sooner by emailing you :^)
Jane - Let's do it :^)I want to hear all about your chocolate opinions!
Rosa Maria - YES you can :^) and hooray for your sunflowers and the many bees they will attract!!!
You did good, what's the point of asking opinions if you only want to hear positive lies?
he he he, diva jam...brava, brava!
I like when you spew your opinion!
ciao and good luck with your packing and moving, so that's why you had to put your art on hold, isn't it?
X
Oh, I love this post! I wish everyone was just as honest. I mean really, when I ask a friend their opinion on something, I mean it! I want to know. The good, bad and ugly.
Dallas and I watched a fascinating story on PBS regarding the bees. Very odd, and sad what's happening to these little guys.
XoXo... too ! Thanks
well, did he get upset, or did he start to argue that you were wrong? taste and opinion is a personal thing, so hey, if that's what you think, then why wouldn't you tell him? he asked :)
i am happy to be back here. i have had some intense weeks. still have, but missed you and your space. and now you made me curious: why are you too busy to do art work these days?
ooooohhhhh I missed you one sunday!!. We were there..I never tasted the jam...because I just prefer mine ;-))but I regret just to probably say the same to Mr. Jam Vendor...2 in a row in one morning...could you imagine his face ??
Love the granny ; she has more style than me!!

Emma from San Francisco
ooh yes, be careful what you ask for for you may get the truth, no? (i've made the same "mistake" of being "too honest" with folks)...and i am loving that granny chic shot...
