This weekend I cut some of my old screen printed fabric remnants into squares and sewed them together. Square to square to square... It wasn't what I was supposed to be doing with my time, but I fell into the rhythm and repetition of it and got hooked. Sort of like mending, something like meditation. Whatever it was I needed to do it. (I'm calling this "fabric sketching" so I feel less guilty about not drawing ... :)

It is so often that distraction leads to such lovely work. Did you forget time?
Don't feel guilty!!
The colors and prints are so soft and lovely.
I wanted to drop a comment to say that I really like your drawings - they make me want to draw too! But this wasn't to make you feel guilty, I liked your patchwork very much as well :).
meditation with such a good result! What will you do with it?
Jo - YES definitely... I remember looking at the clock wondering where the time went. Very much like drawing.
Jennifer - I thank you for saying that, and I pledge to NOT feel guilty!! I am in a screening, sewing, and playing phase and it is all good creativity.
Sohvi - Thank you... Your blog is amazing and I am so glad you stopped by.
Karen - Thank you! I think I'll divide them into lengths of 36", sew a tin bell on the bottom, and hang them all over the yard! Maybe I'll have a giveaway, maybe I'll sell some. Such potential in remnants.
This is so pretty, Janis! Love the colors! It must be comfortable...
for me sewing is drawing too.
and with a meditative mind - that´s what it´s all about?!
your work looks just great!
Ritva - You are right, and I appreciate that thought...thank you!
