String of Hearts

Saturday evening turned out to be a treat. We stumbled on a dance event that we knew little about, only that in the performance was a sensitive puppet by Basil Twist and music composed by Carla Kihlstedt. A sensitive puppet and good music - that sounded good to us, so we booked two seats for the 8pm performance of Wonderboy by the Joe Goode Performance Group. Meanwhile with empty stomachs and a couple hours to kill before the show, we grabbed a bite to eat at Zuni Cafe where we had "string fries" with our meal and a nice table overlooking Market Street.

The show was magical... and afterward the Q & A confirmed that Joe Goode himself is an extraordinary person. I signed up for the JGPG emailing list so I won't miss a performance in the future. Here is a short description of Wonderboy from the program:

"Wonderboy is an unexpected tale of a peculiar hero isolated by his gift of sensitivity and an intuitive knack that sets him apart from others. He feels small and distant, an outsider with his nose pressed up against the glass, but in truth he has enormous power—to see and perceive and even to heal with his gentle demeanor."

The show will be touring the country.

thanks for showing up at my place! Otherwise I wouldn't have found my way here and I like your drawings a LOT! I will be back!
